Review files with Talvi Data Cleaner

Compare duplicates, review a deletion queue, and understand the final commit step.

Start a cleaning session

Open Talvi Data Cleaner and select Begin Talvi Data Clean. The page shows the last completed run and enables the cleaning workspace when a session is active.

Review before deciding

Use Duplicate Files to inspect suggested duplicates. The comparison shows a Master file and a Candidate. Open the relevant content, compare it, and use the swap control if the other file should be the reference. Full Screen expands the comparison when a file is selected.

Use Search For Files to find other unwanted content. Marking a file for deletion adds it to the session’s Deletion Queue; it does not complete the final deletion immediately.

Check the deletion queue

Review every queued file. Remove any item you intend to keep. The option to include unpublished files expands the queue, so review those files too rather than assuming that hidden content is redundant.

Select Commit deletions to inspect the final review. Download details of Files provides a record of the proposed deletion set. Pseudo delete (test only, deletes nothing) runs the test option when selected.

The final Delete action permanently removes the selected content. Use it only after checking the queue. To leave without applying the session’s decisions, use Cancel and confirm the reset.

If you only want to hide a file from users, use Un-publish in File Management.
